Whitney Houston in form to make comeback

SHE'S been through years of trouble and controversy, dealing with everything from drugs to the breakdown of her marriage and career, but it looks like Whitney Houston is much healthier and happier these days.

The 46-year-old singer was full of energy and smiles as she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport earlier today.

And in her blue jeans and black shirt, glowing Whitney looked just like her Rachel Marron character from The Bodyguard.

The reason for her high spirits may have something to do with recent talks about her starring in the sequel to 1995's Waiting to Exhale.

She starred as Savannah in the first movie, alongside Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon and Loretta Devine.

And now it looks as if Whitney and her castmates may have the chance to play the same roles 15 years later, as Terry McMillan's follow up book Getting To Happy has been optioned.

Whitney Houston : Monica Performs Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’

Monica
performed yet another tribute to her close friend and mentor Whitney Houston last evening on the Los Angeles stop of the ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’tour. The singer covered ‘I Have Nothing’ in an effort to remind the audience that, many years ago, Houston had the ability to sing. Peep the footage below via Rap-Up TV:

Monica did a great job. Although she lowered the key from the original composition, she showed impressive control and power. It’s exciting to see singers pay tribute to those who inspired them, especially when their idols can’t even sing their own material (or even remember the words) anymore. We all know that if Houston tried to sing this song today she would speak through the verses and let her backup singer or a backtrack handle the chorus and all the high notes.
